Contactless Prepaid Cards
Introducing a Quicker, Simpler Way to Pay
Contactless prepaid cards have an embedded antenna and chip (RFID tag) letting cardholders simply tap their prepaid card on a Contactless (MasterCard® PayPass™) reader and the transaction amount is deducted from the balance. M2 Europe offers contactless prepaid solutions on both reloadable and non-reloadable MasterCard® prepaid cards.
M2 Europe has been at the forefront of contactless prepaid cards since working with MasterCard to issue the first prepaid MasterCard PayPass™ cards in London in 2007. Subsequently, the company was involved in the introduction of limited edition MasterCard Prepaid PayPass™ cards at The BRIT Awards 2008 and Swarovski Fashion Rocks for the Prince's Trust 2007 and the first stadium contactless prepaid card in Europe with MBNA, the Manchester City FC Prepaid Seasoncard with PayPass™. This multi-award winning reloadable contactless card involved implementation of sophisticated processing on a card that combined membership management, access control and open-loop payments (Contactless and EMV).
Contactless prepaid cards offer huge benefits to venues such as stadiums, as they have the potential to remove cash from the stadium environment, which is a major time and money overhead.
Benefits of Contactless Prepaid Cards:

- Customers no longer limited to cash on hand and are more likely to return to merchants that accept PayPass.
